Over the past few years, BlueDot Impact has developed several programs addressing catastrophic risks from emerging technologies. You might know us as AI Safety Fundamentals or Biosecurity Fundamentals (and for the people who have been following us for even longer, Alternative Protein Fundamentals).
As we’ve grown to train 3,500 people across 110 countries, we’ve decided to build a better digital platform that lets us deliver a more seamless learning experience. Maintaining separate websites split our technical resources and limited what we could offer participants.
What’s changing?
We’re consolidating our websites under a single digital home: BlueDot Impact. (This isn’t a change in ownership — we’ve always been the organisation behind these programs.)
This means rather than jumping between many different websites, you’ll now be able to find all our courses in one place: bluedot.org/courses.
Why are we making these changes?
Simplified navigation: We’ve noticed increasing overlap between our AI safety and biosecurity communities as catastrophic risks become more interconnected, and many students take courses in both areas.
Focusing technical efforts: It should be no surprise maintaining several websites is harder than maintaining one! This will allow us to focus our technical efforts on developing richer course experiences, rather than copying changes across multiple websites.
Clearer identity: By uniting under BlueDot Impact, we’re making it easier to understand that these programs share the same mission, approach, and quality standards.
What this means for you
If you’re a current or past participant, you’ll retain access to the same materials, community and certificates on the new website. You’ll find that you can see all the courses you’ve taken with BlueDot Impact on your profile.
For prospective participants, you’ll find all our course offerings on our new website.
Looking ahead
This consolidation will enable us to provide even higher-quality learning experiences that prepare people to tackle catastrophic risks. As emerging technologies continue to evolve, so too will our approach to education and community-building. We’ve already launched the new Future of AI course on our platform, with integrated interactive demos and inline exercises, and are excited to continue building an even better BlueDot Impact experience!
