This project was submitted by Demelza Robinson. It won the “COVID-19 Analysis” prize in our Pandemics course (May 2024). Participants worked on these projects for 4 weeks. The text below is an excerpt from the final project.
Analyzing each country’s COVID-19 response is essential for identifying strengths and weaknesses in communication strategies. Clear, accurate messaging is key to ensuring public adherence to health guidelines and maintaining trust in health authorities, which counteracts misinformation. This tool, as a proof of concept, compares vaccine communications between New Zealand and the United Kingdom, highlighting differences in vaccination rates and government trust over time to support the analysis.
